The TRC Interview

TRC: How was Ozzfest?

Mike Shinoda: It was great, getting to hang out with other groups and artists. Just the energy of it was so intense. It was great getting together and doing what we love.

TRC: What are your future plans?

Mike: I plan to try to keep the music fresh, keep our fans happy, and help advance Mcing all I can Because there's some seriously talented people out there that are pretty much unheard of."

TRC: Have you thought of getting your own label to bring bands that should be signed along?

Mike: Yeah. In fact, I've been working on it a long time. I wanna get all these great underground bands and make sure everyone has the chance to experience their music.

TRC: Which Bands did you talk to during ozzfest?

Mike: I talked to all kinds of bands. Black Sabbath, Marilyn Manson, Disturbed, Crazy Town, Papa Roach, some underground bands. All kinds of great bands playing great music.

TRC: I noticed Chester in the Endure video by Nonpoint. Were you in it?

Mike: I'm not sure, I know I was in the original cut, but I think I got cut in the editing process.

TRC: How soon can we expect the video for "In The End" to be released?

Mike: Well, it should be a while. We're still working on Papercut so keep an eye out for that. But it won't be too long.

TRC: You play guitar on Crawling, but you can't tell live that you are playing at least not on tv. So do you play much in Crawling?

Mike: Well, sometimes you have to bend while making a video, because there are limitations, but we don't lip sync.

TRC: You guys are good friends with (hed) Planet Earth, right?

Mike: Yeah, well you get the whole like-hate thing going in music today, we're kinda impartial unless there's a reason for us not to like them but they're ok.

TRC: If you could tour with any two bands, who would they be?

Mike: Well I'd have to say Nirvana, and a younger energetic band. I'd say Nirvana and Sum 41.

TRC: What do you think about the recent news about the tragic death of Aaliyah?

Mike: Ah, it's always a terrible thing to hear about anyone who is such a great role model passing so tragically. And someone who had so much ahead of them.

TRC: How long do you think it will be tell a new CD is gonna come from you guys?

Mike: Well, I can't say for sure, but we've been working on some new stuff, we haven't layed it down though.

TRC: What's the deal with that track, The Morning After. Is it new or old?

Mike: It's kinda a fusion of new and old.

TRC: How has living your life been?

Mike: Well, it's stayed the same, but now I can live it to the fullest.
